You would not believe the klutz i am... Supposed to go gym today with the girls and i even pre-packed my gym clothes last night before going to bed and yet i only discovered that i forgot to place them INSIDE my bag when i was about to leave my office...

Usually i would realise that i've forgotten my shoes or gym attire right after i get in the car in the morning. But this time, even the unusually light weight of the bag on my right shoulder gave no early hints of my forgetfulness. :(

Getting Pris's birthday present while typing and sending this via my swanky new handphone. The wonders of technology never fails to amaze me.
Did i mention how i can watch Youtube on my handy? I know I am antique and iphones could do that eons ago but it's all still new to me. Haha

Postman came back with The Letter today. Here's the breakdown of the results slip:

1級 (JLPT Level 1)
文字・語彙 (Writing-Vocabulary): 58/100
聴解 (Listening): 77/100
読解・文法 (Reading-Grammar):139/200
総合点 (Total): 274/400 (68.5%)

The passing grade is 70% (280/400), which means I missed by 6 marks (or 1.5%). It's like saying I got 4.4995 CAP score and missed 1st Class Honors by 0.0005! >_<

Daddy: Big deal! Not important one lah. Just take again next time.
2nd sis: My friends took this paper several times and still failed! So you're quite good already... Don't worry. I sponsor your trip to Japan to take the exams this year.

I really thought I was done with memorizing all the crazy Kanji and weird
grammars.

I thought I would not have to sit through the painfully grueling 4-hours paper and still think they should give us more time.

I thought this would be the last time I have to wait impatiently for 3 months to receive the results of an examination i took 3 months ago...

After slowly climbing out of the depressing black pit called self-pity, I have decided to try again. It is crazy to give up at this point. Although there would be people (like my Big sis) who thinks it is a waste of time and money to get the certificate, but I think otherwise. This 'lousy' piece of paper is proof of my hard work throughout the years. I do not need anyone else's validation. I simply want to prove to myself that I can do it!

And my 2nd sis is so supportive! She also volunteered to sponsor my classes (~$1000)! Of course I wouldn't let her pay. But it is still really sweet to know she supports my 我が儘  decision. There are only 4 countries holding the examination this July. (In the past, the examination is only held annually in December.) For the first time, the examinations will be held in July in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. China being my very last choice. I don't mind the rest. I just need to go a few days before the exam date to check out the place and make sure I do not 'Holland' and end up lost on the actual day. >_< I am famous for being DM (direction moron) even with a map in my hands, so I am not taking any chances this time! Hopefully Ting can convince her mother and we can go to Korea/Japan to take Level 1 together!

For the uninitiated, JLPT Level 1 is highest level of Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and the passing percentage this year was about 28%.

I was googling JLPT results and this came up:
Person A: 不合格!Got 64.25% overall on the 1kyu (Level1), needed 70% to pass, obviously.
Person B: You should be very pleased with that score! I also failed 1 Kyu (Level1) but much more impressively as I'm on a 5 year plan and this was my first go...I was saying I wanted 40% but secretly hoping for 50% and ended up with 46%. It's the first time I've been happy to get such a low score. I'm aiming to reach your level of failure in about 4 years... Good luck for the next one!

*lol* Gotta smile when I read that comment. This was my first try at Level 1 as well... But I'm trying not to let myself use that as an excuse for failing. By 1.5% at that!

But you know, it could have been a lot worse.

My score could have been 279.

I shamelessly stole this picture of some shop/cafe in Copenhagen off Jason's FB. haha.. but I like it too much! Reminds me of Gone Fishing's deco. =)

Watched 'New in Town' and 'All's well ends well (2009)' over the weekend, and 'New in Town' was much <3. I laughed so hard in the cinema that I choked at one point with a coughing fit! (Quite embarrassing..) But I love these sort of love comedy that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling after watching. =)

'All's well ends well' was passable, with the only redeeming point being the hunkalicious Louis Khoo. Actually he was the only reason I wanted to watch the show in the beginning. heeh!

I have been bumping into a few 'stars' recently.

  • Coming back from Malaysia with Kelvin, we spotted Wong LiLin walking along the lane just next to us at the customs. (I wouldn't have noticed if not for the camera crew following her. hehe)

  • Chen Han Wei and friends were sitting at the table behind us at the Food Centre near Middle Road last friday. He was wearing a cap and with his back facing us, we weren't sure at first if it was him. But by chance, I went over to his table to find the stall-auntie (she put $30+ change on our table for no reason then went to take their orders) and return her the money. And I confirmed it's him! Hah No pictures cause I paiseh and I think his friends would notice. They were bio-ing Chow (I think). Even straight ppl would bio him first before bio me, so confirm must be bio-ing him when they laughed and all turned to look our way. *lol*

  • SM Goh & President Nathan were sitting just a few rows away from us during Chingay parade. I think SM Goh aged a lot these recent years... All white hair showing :( I would rather he went to dye his hair black... Not for glam. But because it's sort of heart-aching in a way to see our country's leader showing obvious signs of aging and thus weakness. I know it's normal to have white hair at his age, but still... It's like how I hope my parents would always look young. Like how they were when I was a little girl, so I could still believe that these heroes in my life will always be there to solve any problems, no matter how big or small...
I usually don't notice people when walking around. Which goes to show why it's always friends who would come up to me and say hi in Orchard Road while I would probably have brushed past them without noticing. I blame it on my short-sightedness and my horoscope. (pisces are known as dreamers who live with their head above the clouds.) So don't think I'm dao1 when you spot me looking your way in a crowd and yet there's no signs of recognition across my face. Just come up to me and say hi. :)

Tuesday nights sucks. Cause it can only mean one thing -- Realm Maintenance. >_< Last Tuesday I waited till nearly 2am (Wednesday morning) before the servers came back on! Luckily I'd downed a Starbucks latte at 11pm so i lasted till 5am before logging off. ahaha

I'm now itching to try out the Addons I just downloaded today! Beng's Questhelper is really helpful for direction morons like me and i really leveled faster! Though not as extreme as him or KS. haha Then KS told me about Tourguide & Jame's leveling guide, so I wanna try it out now! *sigh*

By the way, I cut my middle finger last weekend. Bleed quite a bit then. Wound's ok now but I realised i couldnt play properly after that. It hurts when I apply pressure on the finger. And I'm used to using that finger to hit Ctrl+1 together with my thumb to get Snowy (my pet) into action. Although Snowy would auto-engage when I start shooting, but I still prefer Snowy gaining more of the aggro first... Nevermind, give me a few more days, I'm sure my finger will be alrighty by then. :)

Went to buy Toto after work today. SGD$10 million wor! Bought 1 set for daddy then shared a 'red packet' with Chow. Hope all our numbers would win something! Big/small is fine with me. I haven't won any such lotteries before lor. Kaiwen and I tried buying the 5/10million Euros Lotto in Germany once but we forgot to check the results on TV...... Duh right?! We could be millionaires for all you know! haha!

And I realise we can achieve a lot within a short time lor. After work, we grab quick dinner, buy ToTo, pick up Chow's mum, send her to class etc then send me home, and I can still reach home same time as when I take bus! :)

We joined the Sisters & Brothers for drinks last night and the topic turned to the bitch and jerk (hereby called B and J). The entire group last night (except Daniel & Sharon) was present during Ken's birthday BBQ two years ago. Everyone there witnessed and felt unjust for me... I remember Pearly telling me that Ken purposely went up to the bedroom that night to take their photos as evidence because I refused to go up. I still don't know what happened there because I rejected Pearly's offer to show me the resulting photos. But everyone was super furious on my behalf. Last night Yan and Felicia-jie kept telling me I can and should ring them up anytime to whack the B & J upside-down! Haha

Although it has been over 2 years now, but it still feels good to know that anytime I need their support, I know they will be right there. This bunch of friends are different from my other friends in the way they handle things. My other friends would tell me to move on. But these Sis & Bros would go down and make sure the ones who hurt us hurt 10x more. I am not implying that violence is good. While I did not choose that path, that doesn't make me a saint either. I am just glad all the drama is over.

I believe that just like humans, everything has its own good and bad side. And this whole TVB-like incident has made me treasure my friends and family more. That in itself is good enough for me. :)

... ...for the year and this week as well!
This week's a 2-day work week!@!@! Shiokness. Basically everyone was in holiday mood by the time I got back late from lunch with Jerry. lol* I went to read the intermemo then realized that the 5S thingie started from 1pm... No wonder everyone was packing stuff into boxes etc. This year's housecleaning was much more large-scale due to our logo and company name change. All the letterheads, envelopes and catalogues had to be incinerated. Such a waste of resources. I understand for the letterheads but the envelopes and catalogues (shelves and shelves of them) could be put to better use by bringing them to the recycling centres right?!

The trees are crying.

After work, went to meet Ting to renew our gym membership together. Was supposed to go for class as well, but we decided to go shopping instead since LD couldnt make it to class tonight. I thought of leaving my gym stuff in Chow's car, so dont have to lug around to shop but didnt. Luckily Ting was driving today, so I got to dump my barang-barang in her car. Yeh! Was looking around for Silver/White heels for Pearly's wedding but cant seem to find any nice and more importantly comfortable ones... *sigh* I dont understand why pretty shoes all seem to hate my large feet. Next time, I'll give Ting's suggestion a try -- (Literally) bite the shoes before they 'bite' me.

Will be going Genting next month with Ting and her group of guy friends! I dont know anyone else besides her but it's ok, I just want to go 散散心... Besides she said it's time to meet more guys. Haha Although she insisted that they are super nice guys, but she also predicted that they are not my type liao. *lol* But hey, JLPT 1 plus Otaku-ness... I think we will all be very good friends lor! We can pose as Jap tourists up there!! Cool!

Had a good catch-up session with Tingting today =) I was taken aback when she asked me all serious-faced whether I am anorexic or not... Maybe I have been complaining too much about my weight... Must make a mental point to stop doing it. I think I am super confusing sometimes... At times, I think I am not tall enough. But most of the time I feel like an overgrown giant. Same goes for my weight. Am I slowly becoming schizophrenic?

-One confused kid-

You Scored as Aiba Masaki

You're most compatible with Aiba! You know who you are and who you are is someone who isn't very fussy or high maintenance.  Aiba seems to prefer someone who's enthusiastic about life and interested in experiencing it - with him, you get a partner in crime. Results based on a 2006 translated interview about ideal marriages - therefore, you may want to take everything with a grain of salt. ;)

I have way too many types of currencies in my wallet! Actually I have a purse which is purely for SG dollars and daily usage. But I still carry another wallet in my bag everyday for impromptu trips to Indo or Malaysia, and also to hold my credit cards.

Today I informed daddy that I will be going HK and China this week. And he gave me the currencies that he has left from his own trips. (I think daddy is like my personal money-changer, except I don't need to use SGD to exchange. ahaha!)

In order to accommodate the new currencies,  I decided to do some spring-cleaning for my wallet. Should be easy right? But I couldn't distinguish a few notes! The guy on the notes look darn familiar somehow, but the words looked like tamil to me. I have never been to India, so I couldn't possibly have India currency on me!

After thinking hard for about 5 mins, I finally realised... It's Thai currency!!! No wonder the picture on the note looks so familiar... They have the King's face on posters everywhere in Bangkok (and probably all of Thailand)! haha Anyway, I think it's really cool that they have so much respect and love for their King. :)

After spring-cleaning, the different notes I had in my wallet are:
  • USA
  • Malaysia
  • Indonesia
  • Thailand
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • China
  • And of course some SG emergency cash :)

but that doesn't mean retail therapy doesn't work for me. :)

Close friends of mine would know, I am not your typical girlie who loves to shop. To me, it's kinda 面倒くさい. Really! But once in a while, I go crazy and over-shop. So for me, shopping depends a lot on my mood... And of course the companionship! :)

Spent quite a fair bit today... But it is ok. I earned three digits "tips" last month. :) And my forecast for this coming month is also looking good. heeh

With F1's road closure starting this week... I have to walk really far (until SMU!) to take a bus home...

On the other hand, if we weren't always in a hurry to get to office in the mornings, I would think it's really quite cool driving along the F1 route! Reminds me of the time we went to the Sepang F1 circuit. =)

Booked my ticket this afternoon for tomorrow's flight. I need to get to bed early to catch super early flight... Hope I will be able get to catch some sleep on the plane. This morning I zonked out the whole ride to work! gosh this week is madness! 7 cases on my desk before 10am this morn! >_< I need more than 24 hours a day... Can someone find me Hermione's Time Turner?
